Shopmonkey's integration with CARFAX allows you to quickly search a vehicle by license plate decode to view its service history. This powerful feature can help you understand what's been done to the vehicle, what's been recalled, and what services you can sell to your customer.
Activate CARFAX Integration
Click the Settings icon in the bottom left corner of your screen.
Select CARFAX under the Integrations section on the left-hand side.
Select Enable.
Select the checkbox to accept the CARFAX Terms of Service. Select Accept & Enable to activate CARFAX in your shop.
CARFAX will now be enabled in your shop.

License Plate Lookup
When you add a vehicle to your shop with the CARFAX integration activated, you can use the vehicle’s license plate in addition to VIN or Year/Make/Model.
Vehicle Service History
Activating CARFAX in your shop allows for sharing vehicle service history. To view a linked vehicle's service history from within an estimate, select the vehicle tab on the right-side panel, and select View History.
Sending Information with CARFAX
Vehicle service information is automatically sent to CARFAX on a nightly basis.
Please Note: Sharing only applies to estimates converted to invoices when CARFAX is enabled in your shop.
Information shared is strictly vehicle and shop-related information. No customer information is shared with CARFAX. The following information is what gets sent to CARFAX:
VIN
Order Creation Date
Invoiced Date
Mileage
Invoice Number
Service Description
Labor Description
Part Description
Part Quantity
Vehicle Year/Make/Model
License Plate/State
Management System (Shopmonkey)
Location ID
Shop Name
Shop Address (Street, City, State, Zip Code)
Shop Phone
Shop Website
Disable CARFAX Integration
If you’d like to disable the CARFAX integration in your shop, toggle off CARFAX and confirm the disabling.
