Canned orders are saved order templates containing a collection of services that your shop often performs together. Customize canned orders to work for your shop. Here are some examples of how other shops use these:
- Common packaged services (e.g. Oil Change & Tire Rotation)
- Seasonal specials
Check out the video below to learn more about creating and using canned orders in your shop.
Create a Canned Order
Select the Workflow icon on the left-side navigation. From the column workflow view, select the customize icon and Add Column.
Title the new column Canned Orders.
Locate an existing order (or create a new one) that you’d like to save as a canned order for future use. From within the order, select the … ellipsis and Duplicate.
Duplicate Order Settings
Specify your information for the duplicate order. The duplicate order will be the canned order you use to build future orders from.
- Order Name
- Workflow Column: Select your new workflow column, Canned Orders
- Technician Assignments: For the purpose of a canned order, it is recommended to keep this toggled off since this duplicate order will be a template for future orders
Select Duplicate & Open.
Once your duplicate order opens, remove the customer, vehicle, and service writer from the order (if applicable). This will make sure the order is ready to be used as a template and will have no customer or vehicle data associated with it.
From the Workflow page, you will now see your duplicated order as a workflow card in the Canned Orders workflow column.
This workflow card now acts as your template for future orders. Whenever you’d like to create an estimate using this canned order, select the … ellipsis on the workflow card. Select Duplicate. Select which workflow column this order should be moved to (e.g. Estimates) and complete this order as you normally would.
