Customize the look and feel of emails in campaigns with our email builder. Add pictures, format text, change colors, blocks, placeholders, and more.

Create a New Campaign

When you create a new email campaign select Use New Builder.

Please Note: You will not be able to use the email builder on previously made email campaigns, only on new email campaigns moving forward.

What the email will look like will be on your left and your settings and control are on your right. The buttons at the top enable you to see a desktop view of the email, a mobile view and the preview button.

Editing in the Builder

Click on the text to edit, add emojis, have fun! Select the arrow to move content around in the email and it will show you where you can drop/move it. On the far right there are three areas to help customize the email: Content, Blocks, and Body.

Content

Simply drag and drop the content types directly onto the email on the left. Your options are: 

• Columns
• Button
• Divider
• Heading (or title)
• Paragraph (think a block of text)
• Image
• Menu
• HTML

Each content type will have its own settings in the right side panel selected. Feel free to explore each content type’s setting to further customize your emails.

To change the size of an image, like your shop logo, select the image and in the right side panel look for “max-width: 50px”. Change the number to adjust the size.

Blocks

Blocks help define the spacing of the different content types. This is especially useful if you want to have a picture and text in the same horizontal space. The percentages refer to how much space each block will occupy.

 For example, if the block is 50/50, then they would share an equal amount of space.

Simply drag the block into the area of the builder and select the content that should go in each area. 

Body

This is where you customize things like color, font, weight, links, etc. There are general settings to apply to the builder. When a piece of content is selected the settings will appear in the right-side, unique to the specific content you selected. So if I click on the button, the unique body and settings for this button will appear on the right-side.

Placeholders

Similar to the placeholders in message templates, there are placeholders in the email builder. These automatically pull data from the customer/vehicle/order/shop and populate the appropriate information. You will know that these are placeholders based on the light blue dashed box around the content. Your placeholders are:

• Customer Address
• Customer First Name
• Customer Last Name
• Order #
• Order Balance
• Order Name (Title)
• Order Total
• Shop Address
• Shop Email
• Shop Name
• Shop Phone
• Shop Website
• Vehicle License Plate
• Vehicle Make
• Vehicle Model
• Vehicle Unit #
• Vehicle VIN
• Vehicle Year

To add a placeholder text at the top of the text box select Placeholders.

Locked Content

There are two content blocks that are required and therefore locked on every email campaign. The unsubscribe link and the Powered by Shopmonkey. There is no option to edit nor remove these from the email campaigns and that is signified by the grey box and lock icon.
