Select the Scanner Icon to use your device’s camera to scan VINs and license plates. To use the scanner, make sure you allow the app to use your camera in your device settings.

Select what you want to scan: VIN Code, VIN Plate, or License Plate.

• VIN Code: Use the VIN Code scanner to enter the VIN from the barcode on the vehicle information

• VIN Plate: Use the VIN Plate scanner to automatically enter the VIN from the plate on the vehicle just inside the windshield. Review the entered VIN, then tap Lookup

• License Plate: Use the License Plate scanner to enter the license plate information. Select the correct state from the drop-down menu, then tap Lookup

Pro-Tip: Scan in a well-lit area. For more light, use the flashlight icon in the scanner to turn on your device’s flashlight.

After scanning the vehicle, you’ll be able to see any work orders that you have access to for that vehicle. If that vehicle doesn’t have any orders in Shopmonkey, you can create a new estimate for that vehicle. When the order is created, your Service Writer(s) will be able to complete the estimate for the customer and make any assignments needed, or you can add an inspection template and start working right away.
