The mobile app experience is very similar to the web version of Message Center. Check out the Message Center help article to learn more about:

Send a Message From Mobile App
From the Messages Page
Select Messages in the bottom bar.
Select the pencil icon or the search icon to search for a customer and start a new thread.
If the customer has any associated orders, select the order number to associate this message with that order.
From an Order
From within an order, select the message icon in the top right to view and send messages, as well as internal notes, associated with that order.
