Your shop must have Shopmonkey Payments with online payments enabled in order for your customers to use Stripe Link.

Stripe Link

Stripe Link is a consumer-facing, one-click accelerated checkout service (a digital wallet) developed by Stripe.

Key features of Stripe Link:

• Accelerated Checkout: When a customer uses Link, they can save their payment information (credit cards, debit cards, bank accounts in the U.S., etc.) and email address
• One-Click Payments: The next time the customer shops at any business that supports Link, their saved details are automatically filled in, allowing them to complete their purchase in seconds with a single click or tap
• Security: Link securely stores the customer's payment and personal information, which is protected through encryption. It is built by Stripe, a company certified to the highest level of payment industry standards (PCI Service Provider Level 1)
• Verification: To confirm a customer's identity, especially on a new site or device, Link typically sends a one-time verification code via SMS to the customer's mobile phone number or email address

Link is automatically integrated into the Stripe checkout experience that powers Shopmonkey Payments online payments. You do not need to do anything in your shop to enable this feature.

Shop Customer Experience with Stripe Link

When submitting an online payment, customers will have the option to enter their email address. If they do not have an existing Link account, they would then select Card or US bank account to enter their payment information.

After entering in their payment information, the customer has the option to check the box to Save my information for faster checkout. If they check this, they will be prompted to input their mobile number. They will see a message from Link that states “By providing phone number and email, you agree to create an account subject to Terms and Privacy Policy.”

After selecting Pay, their Link account will be created and their payment details will be saved for future payments at your shop.

Existing Link Account

When a customer who has already created a Link account enters in their email address, they’ll receive a one-time code via SMS to verify their identity.

After verifying, the customer’s saved payment information will automatically populate in Shopmonkey.

Please Note: Stripe Link is available for both card payments and ACH payments. Stripe Link will not be available for customers using flexible payment (buy now, pay-over-time) options.
