Fixed Price Services, Tipping, and Purchase Order Updates
In September we introduced Fixed Price Services, Tipping, and Purchase Order updates, along with Apple Pay & Google Pay for online payments. We also shared a first look at Shopmonkey Concierge for CRM Essentials customers. To see the latest updates, make sure to check out the Latest Releases article for the most recent feature information.
New Improvements
- Purchase Order Updates: Previously, correcting a purchase order meant moving it back to Draft, making the edit, and advancing it through each status again. You can now edit quantity and cost on line items while a PO is in the Ordered, Received, or Fulfilled status. Saving a received quantity also updates your inventory cost along with the quantity. This way, if an item's cost went up on your latest order, your inventory will now reflect it and track those changes. To learn more about Purchase Orders, make sure to check out the update article.
-
Fixed Price Services: Pricing a package service, like an oil change special, has historically meant having to adjust individual line items until the total lands where you want it. You will soon have an option to set a flat price for a service, and Shopmonkey will automatically adjust the labor rate (and other service lines as needed) to reach that fixed price. This works for services on estimates, and can be preset for new and existing Canned Services. To learn more, check out our Fixed Price Services article.
- Note: This update is beginning to roll out now and will be available to all shops by October 8th. If you don't see it today, your shop will see Fixed Price Services soon.
-
Global Search: You will soon be able to easily search for Pages in Shopmonkey by using the global search bar. For example, if you want to view your Sales by Customer report, instead of clicking on reports and looking for that report, you can type “Sales by Customer” into the global search bar and that page will appear. This will make it even easier, and faster, to get where you need to go in Shopmonkey. Learn more in our updated Global Search article.
- Note: This update is beginning to roll out now and will be available to all shops by October 8th. If you do not see this in your shop today, it will be available soon.
-
Tipping: For shops using Shopmonkey Payments, you can now collect tips when customers pay a digital estimate, repair order, or invoice. Tipping is completely optional and turned off by default. To start collecting tips, turn it on in your Payments settings.
- Note: This update is beginning to roll out now and will be available to all shops by September 25th. If you do not see this in your shop today, it will be available soon.
- Deleted Item Recovery: Restoring deleted setup items like vendors or labor rates previously required a request to our team. You can now recover more item types yourself from Settings → Deleted Items. New recoverable items include Automated Campaigns, Brands, Coupons, Labor Rates, Roles, and Vendors. Canned Services, Customers, Fleets, Inspection Templates, and Vehicles remain recoverable as before.
- HQ – Deleted Items: For multi-location customers using Shopmonkey HQ, Deleted Items is now available in HQ, so admins can restore deleted items across their organization without contacting Support.
- Accounting & Bookkeeping: You can now upload Income or Expense transactions directly from the Bank Transactions view, so you no longer need to enter them one by one. The download button has also moved into the new menu (≡) in the top action bar.
- Apple Pay & Google Pay: Customers paying online through Shopmonkey Payments can now check out with Apple Pay or Google Pay. This gives your customers a faster, more convenient way to pay without entering their card details.
New Improvements - Coming Soon
- Shopmonkey Concierge: We've started rolling out early access to Shopmonkey Concierge for small groups of existing CRM Essentials customers, and we're gradually expanding access. We're excited to officially launch this feature in October and will share more information and resources as part of the launch. To learn more in the meantime, check out our new CRM Essentials: Concierge article.
